Dole Radishes

About Radish

  • Radishes are fast-growing, cool-season root vegetables from the mustard family
  • They look like small red turnips but the firm, white flesh has a unique peppery flavor that can range from mild to very sharp
  • Eaten raw, mostly as a garnish for dishes and salads

Selecting

Look for firm radishes with bright, crisp green leaves.

Storing

Radishes can stay fresh for up to a month in the refrigerator. Simply remove any leaves from the roots and store in a porous bag in the vegetable drawer. But don’t freeze them: they have high water content and will go mushy when thawing.

Eating

Wash your radishes before grating or slicing their firm, crisp flesh. Great on salads, sandwiches and as a garnish.
