About Litchis
- Yet another fruit that originated in China
- The litchi (lychee) is oval, 3 to 5 cm long, and has a hard, rough, red shell
- Its sweet white flesh is smooth and translucent, like a swollen grape, around a single seed stone
- A litchi tree can yield up to 300 kg of fruit!
Selecting
Choose fruit with bright red shells, like DOLE Litchis. We pack them carefully after harvest, and then transport them to Europe in containers at a constant temperature of about 1.5°C to preserve their natural succulence.
Storing
You can keep litchis for at least a week at room temperature.
Eating
Peel the shell and eat the succulent flesh out of your hand.
