Dole Grapefruits

About Grapefruit

  • Refreshing citrus fruit with plenty of juice and vitamin C
  • Yellow or golden skin covers fleshy, juicy pulp that varies from pale yellow (bitter) to ruby red (sweeter)

Selecting

Generally, the sweeter red varieties come from sub-tropical regions, such as Florida and Honduras. Grapefruit from drier regions, like Israel and South Africa, are sharper tasting.

Go for firm, heavy grapefruits with undamaged skins.

Storing

Citrus fruits do not ripen after harvest but you can store them at room temperature for a couple of weeks. Red-fleshed DOLE Grapefruits are shipped to Europe in special containers kept at between 10°C and 15°C and 90% humidity. That’s why DOLE Grapefruits are full of natural juicy sweetness.

Eating

A refreshing and healthy breakfast starter. One grapefruit can give you your daily dose of vitamin C.
