Selecting
Bananas turn from green to yellow as they ripen. But they quickly become over-ripe, especially in heat. DOLE Bananas are harvested green, transported in cool temperatures and allowed to ripen at their destination. So they arrive in your store fresh, firm and delicious.
Storing
Green bananas will ripen in your home at room temperature. If you want to store ripe bananas, pop them in the fridge for a day or two; the skin will go brown but the flesh will stay firm and delicious.
Eating
Bananas taste even sweeter when the skin has a few brown spots – it’s the natural sugar coming through.
You can eat a banana anywhere, anytime; it is so easy to carry in your bag, back pack or briefcase. Chop a banana on your salad or dessert. Delicious baked or fried too.
